Adhesive technology on the rise

roeren expands its investment portfolio in industrial manufacturing and acquires a stake in the newly founded SmartAdhesiveSolutions GmbH (SAS). The spin-off from as adhesive solutions specializes in adhesive technology and process optimization – an area that is becoming increasingly important in modern industry.

Strategic partnership between roeren and SAS

The demands placed on industrial manufacturing processes are constantly increasing. Adhesive technologies play a decisive role, particularly in sectors such as the automotive industry, aerospace and medical technology. They enable lightweight construction, reduce the use of materials and help to increase efficiency. At the same time, the demands on process reliability and quality assurance are increasing. This is precisely where SmartAdhesiveSolutions comes in and develops solutions for optimized adhesive application in series production – the core area of roeren’s consulting expertise.

The collaboration between roeren and Marco Rodriguez, founder of SAS, has been in place since 2018, with joint projects including the optimization of system technologies and production parts. They are currently cooperating successfully in the development of solutions for high-voltage battery housings. This is because adhesive bonding technology is one of the biggest challenges in industrial production and is therefore in high demand. By acquiring a stake in SmartAdhesiveSolutions, roeren is deepening its expertise in this area.

“When we work with Marco Rodriguez on projects, it’s not about gray theory, but about the much less trivial implementation – precise, solution-oriented and with real added value for the customer. With SAS, we combine precisely these strengths. For us, this is not a playground, but a strategic investment in a topic that has long since ceased to be a niche issue,” explains Thomas Weindorfer, member of the Management Board and Head of Adhesives Competence at roeren.

Adhesive technology as a new key technology for the industry

Adhesive bonding technology is a decisive factor in industrial production when it comes to meeting modern requirements for material use, efficiency and durability. It enables different materials such as metals, plastics or composite materials to be joined without creating mechanical stresses. In the automotive and aerospace sectors in particular, adhesive bonding technology contributes to weight reduction and improves energy efficiency.

“The integration of adhesive bonding technology into industrial process optimization is becoming increasingly important. By investing in SAS, we are creating truly sustainable synergies,” says Prof. Sven Roeren, Managing Director of roeren.

Shared values and future prospects

Both companies are united by the pursuit of efficiency, quality and technological innovation. Close cooperation with scientific institutions ensures that the latest findings from research and development are incorporated into industrial applications. The participation of roeren GmbH in SAS is a strategic step towards setting new standards in industrial production together with a proven partner.

“The entry of roeren into SAS is a step that makes perfect sense due to our long collaboration. We will be able to work on joint projects even more intensively and precisely and also focus on new markets that we would not be able to tackle as individual companies. We will be able to take bonding to a new level for our customers,” says Marco Rodriguez.
